Znanje za gospodaren odnos do narave / Knowledge for Sustainable Nature Management (ZAGON)
- program: Blaženje podnebnih sprememb in prilagajanje nanje;
- neposredni učinek programa: B.4.1 Boljša usposobljenost za upravljanje z ekosistemi;
- trajanje: 1. 9. 2022–30. 4. 2024.
Cilji projekta so:
- dvigniti odpornost ekosistemov, ki so najbolj pod pritiskom podnebnih sprememb, z izboljšanjem znanj in kompetenc deležnikov;
- razviti nove pristope k načrtovanju upravljanja izbranih ekosistemov z vključevanjem podnebnih sprememb;
- izboljšati stanje ekosistemov, prizadetih zaradi podnebnih sprememb;
- dvigniti znanje in zavest deležnikov o pomenu varovanja in ohranjanja ekosistemov in njihovih ekosistemskih storitev za blaženje posledic podnebnih sprememb in prilagajanje nanje;
- razviti nove pristope k načrtovanju upravljanja izbranih ekosistemov z vključevanjem ekosistemskih storitev.
Rezultati projekta bodo:
- 5 obnovljenih ekosistemov s skupno površino 46,15 hektarjev s popisanimi ekosistemskimi storitvami in predlaganimi modeli upravljanja;
- 2 razvita nova modela upravljanja, ki bosta upoštevana pri pripravi 4 upravljavskih načrtov;
- izvedena kampanja izobraževanja in ozaveščanja (10 delavnic, 6 izobraževanj in terenskih ogledov, 1 seminar, 2 študijska obiska za različne ciljne skupine projekta, promocijske aktivnosti);
- 110 usposobljenih strokovnjakov, z nadgrajenim znanjem in kompetencami za izboljšano upravljanje ekosistemov;
Targeted project areas are Radensko polje Landscape Park, Rački ribniki Landscape Park - Požeg, Menina planina, SPA Grintovci - Turnovka and SPA Grintovci - Podolševa and Raduha. All targeted project areas are Natura 2000 areas.
Project partners within the project are Municipality of Grosuplje (leading partner), Institute for Tourism and Promotion “Tourism Grosuplje”, Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Nature Conservation, Slovenia Forest Service and Slovenian Forestry Institute from Slovenia and University College for Green Development from Norway. All project partners offer rich experience regarding the integration of the aspect of climate change into the management of natural areas, the development and validation of new management models and the exchange of knowledge and best practice.
Project identification:
- programme priority: Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation;
- output B.4.1: Improved capacity for ecosystems management;
- duration: 1. 9. 2022–30. 4. 2024.
Project specific objectives are:
- to increase the resilience of ecosystems most affected by climate change and to strengthen the stakeholders' competences and participation in the management of ecosystems;
- to develop new approaches to planning the management of selected ecosystems by integrating climate change;
- to improve the state of ecosystems affected by climate change;
- to raise knowledge and awareness on importance of protecting and conserving ecosystems and their ecosystem services and
- to mitigate and adapt to effects of climate change.
Project outcomes will be:
- 5 restored ecosystems with a total area of 46.15 hectares in the project areas Radensko polje Landscape Park, Rački ponds Landscape Park, Menina planina, Grintovci sub-area Turnovka, Grintovci sub-areas Podolševa and Raduha with inventoried ecosystem services and proposed management models;
- 2 new management models developed and integrated into the preparation of 4 management plans;
- implemented education and awareness campaign (10 workshops, 6 trainings and field trips, 1 seminar, 2 study visits for different target groups of the project, promotional activities);
- 110 trained professionals, with upgraded knowledge and competences for improved ecosystem management;
- 310 people who will be directly reached by the education and awareness campaign with the aim of improving knowledge and understanding of the importance of ecosystem services for ecosystem management.
As part of the project, a land will be purchased on the territory of Radensko polje Landscape park, on which the restoration of the wetland meadow will be carried out. An educational trail with a total length of 3 km will also be established, which will start in Mala Račna near the Žabja hiša and will continue through Velika Račna and Kopanj to the flood forest.
